In 1962, the West Indian Independence Celebrations was established as an annual event to educate, commemorate and to celebrate the independence of West Indian islands. The Celebrations subsequently grew to include other islands of the Caribbean as well. This event is entering its 54th year and strives to maintain a celebration of diversity in the Greater Hartford region.
