WHAT IS THE RAINBOW SOUL FAIR?
Rainbow Soul is an outdoor fair where community organizers such as True Colors, LCS (Latino Community Services), and PRIDE (Capital Community College), Spectrum (University of Hartford), and Black Student Union (Capital Community College) come together to create safe space for LGBTQ people of color through art, dance, and music.
Minorities in the US are at high risk for STI infections due to a number of factors such as low income, limited health care access, and the stigma of homophobia which can discourage routine testing.
Rainbow Soul will commence in the North End of Hartford at Keney Park on Saturday April 22nd. Join us in encouraging social awareness and health education. Attendees are encouraged to picnic, grill, BBQ, and participate in activities that stimulate positive attitudes towards LGBTQ people of color.

WHY KENEY PARK?:
The North End of Hartford can be historically cited by some as a central point of established black and Caribbean owned business. As of 2017 lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) persons in countries such as Jamaica, particularly men face up to ten years imprisonment, and have been targets of violent crime. Outreach in urban areas is essential in the fight against homophobia stigma where derogatory terms such as "No Chi-Chi Man", "Batty boy" or "Putos (Spanish)" can prevent youth from seeking the guidance they need. Join True Colors, LCS (Latino Community Services), and PRIDE (Capital Community College) on April 22nd for Rainbow Soul.
